At Desenio Group, a European e-commerce market leader, we are passionate about interior decor and design! Our business idea is simple: on-trend, attractive decor should be available to everyone. Since our inception, we have seen boom and bust and for the last year we have been on a turnaround journey that is now kicking into the next gear. At Desenio, we're on a mission to inspire people to create beautiful homes

We are looking for an External Brand & Licensing Manager to strengthen and grow Desenio Group’s external brand- and art portfolio. This is a commercial oriented role with end-to-end ownership of licensing and rights acquisition.

You will identify and evaluate new brands, artists and IP, review and negotiate agreements and ensure that our licensing investments create long-term commercial value. Once partnerships are in place, you will continue to own and develop them by monitoring performance, renewals and renegotiations. You are expected to turn trends, customer insights and sales data into concrete assortment and investment decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and proactively scout new brands, artists, estates, IP owners and licensing partners with strong commercial potential.
  • Build and maintain relationships with brand owners, licensors, agents, rights holders and potential partners.
  • Evaluate new opportunities based on brand strength, customer relevance, rights availability, commercial potential and fit with Desenio Group’s assortment.
  • Lead negotiations and manage licensing agreements, including commercial terms, royalties, minimum guarantees, exclusivity, contract periods, product categories and usage rights.
  • Review and analyze licensing agreements, identifying commercial opportunities and risks.
  • Analyse sales, profitability and performance to determine what to scale, renegotiate, renew, develop or exit.
  • Work closely with creative and commercial teams to bring partnerships from opportunity to launch.
  • Ensure that rights, agreements and commercial terms are clearly documented and followed throughout the organization.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You have a strong commercial mindset and instinct for what sells, combined with solid experience in licensing, rights management and contract negotiation. You are comfortable negotiating with a global rights holder, reviewing contract terms, analysing sales performance and identifying the next brand or artist we should approach.

We believe you have:

  • Several years of relevant experience in licensing, brand partnerships or a similar commercial role.
  • Experience working with brands, IP owners, licensors, agents or rights holders.
  • Strong experience negotiating and managing licensing agreements, including royalties, minimum guarantees, territories, exclusivity and usage rights.
  • Experience evaluating commercial opportunities and agreements, balancing brand fit, profitability, risk and long-term value.
  • Proven negotiation experience from working with both large international organizations and individual artists or rights holders.
  • A business-minded, entrepreneurial approach with a clear focus on sales, profitability and long-term value.

AS A PERSON

You are commercial, analytical and pragmatic, with strong attention to detail and an ability to see both the bigger picture and the fine print. You are a confident communicator who builds strong relationships and can navigate different stakeholders. We believe that you have a business-minded, entrepreneurial approach with a clear focus on sales, profitability and long-term value. Last but not least you have strong analytical skills and the ability to use sales and performance data to inform commercial decisions.

WHAT WE OFFER

As our External Brand & Licensing Manager, you will take on a highly commercial role in a creative environment. You will team up with talented colleagues and shape the future of how we work with external brands and build the portfolio. The role is a perfect mix of commercial strategy, licensing and creativity and is ideal for someone who enjoys navigating both the business and legal aspects of partnerships while working in a highly creative environment.
